Data Acquisition Network

Data Acquisition Network

XiltriX measures, evaluates and stores physical parameters and variables via a real-time network of analogue and digital sensors. Every sensor connected to the network is measured multiple times per minute. These measurements are then digitalized and stored in the server backend. The user friendly software evaluates the measurements against preset alarm limits. When the measured value is out of bounds, an alarm is automatically activated and sent to the right person. Making XiltriX the true real-time monitoring and alarm system.

XiltriX designs and develops its own hardware. The result is devices that can not only measure different types of sensors in real-time, but also have a large back-up battery in case of power failure. This is very important because when everything else fails, XiltriX will keep on working, still able to send alarm, proving its value in preventing damage. All substations automatically monitor power failure enabling users to know when damage will occur instead of when it is already too late.

Calypso

The Calypso substation is specifically designed  as a communication device with battery backup. It is connected to the customer’s LAN. Requests from the LAN are transmitted via a hard-wired bus or the wireless. Equipped with a watchdog relay and 4 freely useable relays, it can also be used to connect to alarm devices or BMS systems.

A special version of the Calypso (Particle) can be used to digitally connect to Lighthouse particle counters.

Titan PT100 & mA

Titan substations are hardwired into the Calypso via an RS-485 bus network. This reliable communication bus communicates continuously to all substations and sends back measurements in real-time. Every Titan has a backup battery and 4 pt100 or 4-20 mA sensors can be connected. The 4 additional digital status inputs allow to also connect 4 I/O contacts like door sensors. The Titan has 3 open collector outputs and 1 relay output to connect alarm devices to.

Telesto

Telesto substations can communicate wirelessly in real-time by using the 434 MHz frequency band. This band allows for great penetration inside buildings and can be subdivided into 4 frequency sub-bands for optimal coverage.

Every Telesto has a backup battery and 2 pt100 or 4-20 mA sensors can be connected. The 4 additional digital status inputs allow to also connect 4 I/O contacts like door sensors. Telestos can also be used as a wireless bridge device connecting multiple Titans to its communication bus.

Tethys

When devices need to be monitored that are not in range of a hard-wired or wireless connection, Tethys can be connected to the network directly. Every Tethys has a backup battery and 2 pt100 or 4-20 mA sensors can be connected. The 2 additional digital status inputs allow to also connect 4 I/O contacts like door sensors. The Tethys has 3 open collector outputs and 1 relay output to connect alarm devices to.

CO₂/O₂ substation

The unique CO₂/O₂ substation from XiltriX allows users to measure gasses without having to place a sensors INSIDE the incubator. This prevents cross contamination and makes high temperature decontamination of the incubators a lot easier. A small gas sample of up to 16 incubators is sucked out of the incubator and is analysed by one central CO₂ or O₂ sensor. By adding zero & span calibration the sensor has unrivalled accuracy and can adjust itself to changing conditions automatically. This substation is ideal for IVF or GMP laboratories with high numbers of box type incubators optimising work flow and saving money in the process.

XiltriX at Laborama 2024 – Brussel Expo – Hall 3, Booth G18

XiltriX International is happy to join into the 24th edition of the Laborama, The main event for the laboratory industry, taking place on 14 & 15 March.

“A search was started to find a system that could measure multiple physical parameters because of the more stringent legislation and accreditation needs for the Joint Commission International (JCI) the system had to comply to a large number of requirements. That system was XiltriX.”
