XiltriX GMP validated real-time monitoring system installed on 5 Eurofins sites across the Netherlands

XiltriX monitoring prevents damage and supports quality

ROSMALEN – Dec 21, 2017 – The company Eurofins Microsafe has been a user of the XiltriX monitoring and alarm system for nearly a decade. XiltriX was installed after the previous system did not live up to the expectations of the customer. XiltriX monitors the temperature in freezers, fridges and rooms, but also the temperature and CO₂ level in incubators. XiltriX also monitors the differential pressure and particle counts in the cleanrooms and is calibrated and validated according to 21 CFR part 11 and GMP. After many years of use, we asked Mr. Tony van Weert, facilities engineer responsible for XiltriX, to describe his experiences with XiltriX over the years. He stated the following:

Mr. Tony van Weert: “XiltriX was first installed in just the Microsafe laboratory, but has grown over the years to many GMP sites in different buildings and cities. It works very well acquiring data in real time and sending out alarms via SMS, E-mail and telephone. XiltriX has notified us many times in case of temperature problems, doors left open and issues with various equipment. It was even able to alarm us of flooding in the server room due to a malfunctioning air conditioning unit.

Mr. Tony van Weert: There is one thing though that sets XiltriX apart from other systems, this is the ability to detect power failures in various parts of the building. Since power failures are detected instantly (the substations have their own back-up battery) temperature, CO₂ or other alarms can be prevented. This prevents users from having to come to the laboratory at all hours transporting the samples from one device to the next. It also prevents sample quality from deteriorating because of the temperature fluctuations. Finally, XiltriX prevents us from having to write deviations and therefore supports the goal of our company providing the best quality work to our customers. We would certainly recommend XiltriX to other laboratories.”

Currently Eurofins Microsafe has multiple hundreds of monitoring sensors spread across 5 sites in the Netherlands.
