What will you do?

You will manage and develop our AWS environment using Infrastructure as Code with Terraform. You will also work on CI/CD and deployment pipelines.

You will be involved in the global rollout of XiltriX Resilience, deploying software, firmware and configurations and acting as the technical point of contact. You will also maintain and modernise legacy systems that are still running at customer sites.

When an incident occurs, you will investigate what is really happening. You will analyse logs, trace network traffic and continue until you find the cause. You will contribute to network, firewall and security questions and document what we build.

Not everything happens behind a screen. You will connect equipment, measure, test and assemble setups. Software, cloud, networks and hardware all meet in this role.

What do we ask of you?

You are analytical and do not settle for a solution without understanding the cause of the problem. You work independently and first investigate for yourself by reading documentation, trying and testing. When needed, you then ask a focused question.

You are keen to learn. XiltriX Resilience keeps developing, so you enjoy taking on new technologies and questions. You also like working with hardware. This role is less suitable if you want to work exclusively from a keyboard.

• Strong Linux knowledge
• Sound knowledge of networks and firewalls, including routing, VLANs, VPN and TLS
• Extensive experience with AWS and Terraform
• Experience with Git-based workflows, including GitHub
• A broad IT foundation for working with older systems and varied customer environments
• A customer-focused mindset
• Fluent Dutch and good English
• Python, Bash or PowerShell scripting, IoT and OTA updates, regulated healthcare, pharma or biotech environments, ISO 27001 or GxP, and Azure or AWS certifications are useful but not required

What will you do?

You will develop and maintain firmware for systems based on chips such as ESP32 and ensure reliable communication between devices and with the cloud.

You will implement secure cloud communication and over-the-air updates. You will also integrate sensors, displays, data logging and alarm functionality.

Testing and validation are part of the job. You will write unit tests, perform hardware validation and support production, qualification and release processes. You will work closely with cloud, backend and hardware engineers, conduct code reviews, contribute to architecture decisions and analyse complex technical issues.

What do we ask of you?

You look beyond the code. You understand that software for hospitals and laboratories must meet different requirements from standard applications. You actively consider security, reliability, compliance, user experience and scalability, take responsibility for quality and enjoy working in a strong technical team.

• A bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Computer Science or a comparable field
• At least 3 years of embedded software development experience for a mid-level role, or 5 or more years for a senior role
• Excellent C programming skills
• Experience with RTOS environments; FreeRTOS is an advantage
• Experience with ESP32, STM32 or Nordic nRF platforms
• Knowledge of UART, SPI, I2C, CAN and TCP/IP networks
• Experience with Git and CI/CD workflows
• Good command of Dutch and English
• Experience with nRF9160 LTE-M/NB-IoT, AWS IoT Core, MQTT, device provisioning, secure boot, certificates, cryptography, OTA updates, Linux development, regulated environments or hardware debugging is useful but not required
