Eurofins: from one laboratory to five GMP sites
One microbiology laboratory became a monitored estate across buildings and cities, validated to GMP and 21 CFR Part 11.
- Sites
- 5 in the Netherlands
- Validation
- GMP, 21 CFR Part 11
- Coverage
- Several hundred sensors

Growing with the estate
What started in the Microsafe laboratory grew into GMP sites in different buildings and different cities. Several hundred sensors now cover freezers, fridges, rooms, incubator temperature and CO₂, and cleanroom differential pressure and particle counts, all calibrated and validated.
Deviations that never happened
Monitoring stations run on their own back-up battery, so a power failure is detected instantly rather than inferred later from a cascade of unrelated alarms. That single detail removes night-time sample transfers and the written deviations that follow them.
The system has also caught what nobody was looking for, including flooding in the server room caused by a failing air conditioning unit.
"Instant power failure detection prevents downstream alarms, night-time sample transfers and written deviations."
